The first Audi Q8 e-tron drove off the production line at the Brussels plant yesterday, 14 December, marking the beginning of an era for the new top model in Audi’s electric SUV range. The plant has been a model for sustainable production since the production of the Audi e-tron began. 2018 saw the birth of the Audi e-tron.

Audi will begin production of the Audi e-tron Sportback—Audi’s second production electric car—at Audi Brussels (Belgium) in 2019. The Audi e-tron electric SUV—the first electric model—will drive off the assembly line there as of 2018. The concept car is a four-door gran turismo.

As of 2018, Audi Brussels will produce exclusively the commercial version of Audi’s e-tron quattro battery-electric SUV ( earlier post ). The site in Belgium will thus become a key plant for electric mobility at the Volkswagen Group. The Audi Q3, currently produced in Spain, will be built in Győr (Hungary) in the future.
