The world’s most beautiful EV? CALLUM Skye is wild new off-road EV sports car created by ex-Jag design boss

Ex-Jaguar design boss Ian Callum has pulled the drapes off his latest creation – a wild all-terrain 4×4 called the CALLUM Skye that comes equipped with all-electric power.

Created to tackle gravel, sand, snow, mud and even some grassy paddock bashing, the new CALLUM Skye has been dubbed “the world’s most beautiful high-performance multi-terrain vehicle” by the man who designed it.

Driven by dual motors that provide for all-wheel drive, the new EV is said to weigh just 1150kg and comes with a small 42kWh battery that provides for a decent 270+km range.

To keep drag low its designer Callum, who also once worked penning Aston Martins, gave the Skye a covered grille with integrated LEDs and a low-drag aerodynamic body, although all four wheels are exposed to the elements.

Within, there’s a 2+2 cabin layout that should be both light and airy thanks to the full-width panoramic roof.

The pics released suggests that the CALLUM Skye will be offered in two versions, one with road-biased tyres and another more extreme version on mud-terrain tyres.

Full details will be released later but the British firm said the Sky, that measures in at just 4-metres long, will be capable of a 0-60mph (0-97km/h) dash in less than four seconds.

Claimed to be to be able to “conquer the rigorous demands of a variety of off-road terrains, while still delivering the ride comfort and handling that transforms winding country roads into captivating experiences for both the driver and passengers”, Callum says that testing of the first Skye prototypes will begin in around March 2024.

As well as being lightweight, CALLUM is poised to use state-of-the art batteries for the first EV that, combined with the Skye’s capabilities, will make a “big impressions on the industry”.

Produced in a UK-based factory in Warwickshire in the West Midlands, it’s been reported that CALLUM will limit production of the Skye to just 50 cars, with each mud-loving EV set to be priced from £100,000 ($A190,000).
