More recent additions to the City of Winslow are The Standin' on the Corner Park, which has become an interesting draw for music fans who remember the line "standin on the corner in Winslow Arizona, such a fine sight to see" from the #1 hit Take It Easy, sung by the Eagles. After a PHEV demo, the charming Receptionist, Shanna Trujillo, saw that the "Spirit" and EVJerry were settled in for the evening.

Chrysler Group withdraws test PHEV fleet to upgrade battery packs after overheating issues; to use a different chemistry

On Friday, Chrysler Group LLC announced it was withdrawing from service its test fleet of plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles (PHEVs) to conduct a battery-pack upgrade. The PHEVs were being evaluated for durability and other attributes by 16 partner organizations—municipalities and utility companies across 20 states. million miles of service in various conditions, from high-altitude Colorado to Arizona’s desert.

Penn State wins EcoCAR 2 Year 2 competition with E85 PHEV

The 15 universities competing in EcoCAR 2 gathered in Yuma, Arizona last week for six days of vehicle testing and evaluation on drive quality and environmental impact at General Motors (GM) Desert Proving Ground. The Penn State University Advanced Vehicle Team (PSU AVT) designed a series plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) fueled with E85. EcoCAR 2: Plugging In to the Future named Pennsylvania State University its Year Two winner at the EcoCAR 2013 Competition in San Diego.

In addition to Phoenix holding a comfy stopover spot at EVJerry's Bro Jim and Sweet Sis-in-Law, Rosie, contacting was being made for a Media EVent link-up with Arizona State U. The "Spirit" was recording 66.3MPG for 149 miles and registering 100,499 miles with fill-up at the Pilot Station in Eloy, AZ, taking in midgrade 8.295 gals x $2.05 = $17.88.

Wednesday, 11 February 2009 was continuing the reading after re-charging to 72.4MPG for 70 miles, but t'was exactly a PHEV Day, but more of one of rest and visiting with Mom and Sister Mary Catherine in re-scheduling preparation for Arizona. Thursday was PHEV 136 Day, 11 February 2009, with the Run to Phoenix.

The PHEV Kit was checked and shown in good functionally operating order; the depleted battery pac was replaced and re-invigorated and balanced with a B&B EB20 battery pack. Back on the Capital Mall in time for the Earth Day Weekend with the EPA 5th National Sustainable Design Expo, EVADC as the lead sponsor of PHEV All Around America will proclaim the "Spirit" as truly the first All American PHEV for having been to all 48 State Capitals.
