Is an EV Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai Motor Group, began this past week producing its first model in the United States at the sprawling HMG factory in Montgomery, Alabama. Genesis showed a pre-production 2023 Electrified GV70 at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. The last one is no small thing.

Case-in-point is the all-new GV60 EV, which followed its cousins, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (2020), and the Kia EV6 ( 2021). After driving 246 miles through Southern California counties of Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego, we had 30 miles of range remaining on the dash gauge. So Genesis, you did a great job. EPA at 235 miles.

Minus three when people realize that there already are cars like that: The Swatch Car, Hyundai Getz, i10, etc. Not everyone wants to get hot and sweaty to go to a restaurant, and parking is such an issue in downtown Los Angeles (and Beverly Hills) that buses are almost tolerable. Im astonished at the negativity here.
