One can be quite encouraged by the 30 odd alternative fuel cars of all shapes and sizes. Phoenix Motors AltairNano powered SUV was the other full BEV. ZENNs and Miles Motors and scaled down pickups and jeeps from companies I'd never heard of. A real car, by any measure. I hope to find out more tomorrow.

GMC recently invited members of the automotive press to Phoenix, Arizona, where we went through a two-day crash course in what makes the Hummer tick. We then spent 100 miles on the freeway, and a couple hours on technical off-road trails in the desert. Level 2 240V +16 miles per hour and 20-to-100% in 16.5 Unique Interior.
