Vulcanol is CRI’s brand name for renewable methanol, produced from CO 2 and hydrogen from renewable sources of electricity (hydro, geothermal, wind and solar). The methanol production process from coal (coal gasification, gas purification and distillation, and methanol synthesis) is the main contribution to the increased CO 2 emissions.
