Europe demonstrated that the widespread adoption of EVs is increasingly feasible, and will become a likely reality once the cars become more affordable. Among the big markets, electrified vehicles counted for almost 19% in France, 14% in the UK, 12% in Spain, 10% in Germany and 8% in Italy. SUVs continue to gain traction.

Notes: SUVs are not defined, but presumably this category includes crossovers. The goal of using taxpayer dollars to increase sales of electric vehicles should serve two primary purposes: 1) To reduce the cost differential between comparable EV and ICE vehicles to make EVs more attractive and more affordable to more people.
