Earlier this year, Hyundai launched its Ioniq 6 streamliner electric sedan. After selling hundreds to local drivers, Hyundai has now announced the pricing and specifications of its new 2024 model.
This time, it includes a more affordable version with a starting price of $65,000 before on-roads. This pricing allows more drivers to have access to the efficient sedan while taking advantage of state and territory EV subsidies across the country.
āThe revised and upgraded line-up for 2024 Ioniq 6 enhances the accessibility and value of our reigning World Car of the Year, while bringing our vision for clean mobility ever closer,ā said Ted Lee, the head of Hyundai Australia.
The new lineup is offered in three variants, including:
- Ioniq 6
- Dynamiq
- Epiq
The base Ioniq 6 comes with two single-motor powertrains. The first one is the entry-level trim with a power output of 111 kW. Thatās paired with a smaller 53 kWh battery pack, offering 429 km of WLTP range.Ā
This is bumped up 614 km with the second trim as it comes with a larger 77.4 kWh battery pack. This is priced from $71,500 before on-road costs.
Following that, the Dynamiq trim comes in two powertrains as well. This time with a dual-motor AWD option as well.Ā
The single-motor 2WD Dynamiq trim has a starting price of $77,500 while the more powerful dual-motor variant with 239 kW of power is priced from $82,000. Both are offered with the larger 77.4 kWh battery pack.
Similarly, the Epiq variant with an option to have a digital side mirror package is priced from $81,000 and $85,500 respectively. This digital side-mirror option comes with a price-tag of $3,000 for interested drivers.
With the 2024 model of the Ioniq 6, all variants now include a more efficient heat pump as standard.
Now, pre-conditioning of the battery pack is also available which helps pre-heat the battery for optimum charging at a fast charger. This can be activated when navigating to a charger using the carās in-built navigation system.
Similar to the 2023 model, all variants are also capable of vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature, allowing the carās battery to be used to power multiple devices when camping or to charge a laptop when on the go.
Speaking of the battery, all variants, including the one with the new smaller 53 kWh battery pack can be fast charged from 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes when charging from a 350 kW charger.
As of October, Hyundai has delivered 468 Ioniq 6 vehicles after making its first local customer deliveries in February 2023.
The new base variant is likely to be a popular choice, helping the streamliner sedanās sales reach new levels in 2024.
