If authorities in Fort Bend County, Texas are correct, there’s more bad news in store for extended-range electric automaker Fisker. Last week, a 2012 Fisker Karma owner in Fort Bend County parked his Karma in an attached garage, alongside a Mercedes SUV and an Acura NSX. Three minutes later, the Karma was engulfed in flames.

There is no truth in the claim that a Fisker Karma’s lithium-ion battery was to blame for causing a house fire which left the range-extended electric car in cinders.

Bolstered by production in China for that key market, soon to be augmented by new plants in Austin, Texas, and Germany, Tesla does not appear to be looking back, but if it did would continue to see other automakers in its rearview mirror. Tesla found the volume (after some initial stumbles) that has moved the company toward fiscal stability.
