The Dromana 3 Drive-In, located on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, claims to have become the world’s first drive-in to provide EV charging for patrons.
Located just off the end of the Peninsula Link freeway, the Dromana 3 Drive-In has been an iconic attraction for Melburnians since the early 60s. With three huge screens dominating the scenery, countless residents and visitors to the Mornington Peninsula pass the drive-in every day.
And now, the Dromana 3 Drive-in has installed several new EV chargers made by Clayton-based charger manufacturer EV Up, each of which use electricity generated by solar.
A total of 6 EV chargers have been installed, with 2 on each field, although EV owners will need to bring their own Type 2 charging cable.
