Telangana State Road Transport Corporation paves the way for Telangana’s green future

With 550 electric buses, TSRTC has placed South India’s largest single order with Olectra

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd.’s subsidiary, Olectra Greentech Ltd., has received an order for 550 e-buses from Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). This will pave the way for Telangana’s green future and pave the way for sustainable development. The TSRTC will be making the greatest contribution to Telangana’s better future through this project.

A significant order in their career has been shared by Olectra via Twitter. They expressed their involvement in the contribution of TSRTC to the green future of Telangana.

According to the company’s press release, it is South India’s largest electric bus order from Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. This order is crucial to Telangana’s transition to clean, green, and mass public transport electric mobility.

The order includes 50 inter-city e-buses and 500 intra-city e-buses. Intercity electric buses operate between Hyderabad in Telangana and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. The electric buses are air-conditioned and can travel over 325 km on a single charge. Urban electric buses operate within Hyderabad and each battery-powered bus has a range of over 225 km on a single charge. TSRTC provides five depots in partner cities for the deployment and operation of these electric buses. According to Olectra, the cooperation with TSRTC began in March 2019 with 40 electric buses. These electric buses make their way from the airport to various destinations in Hyderabad. The order is part of Telangana’s green mobility vision for large-scale, clean, and green public transport.

K V Pradeep, Chairman and CEO of Olectra Greentech, said: “We are proud to partner with TSRTC in their vision of a sustainable and economical mass transit system. The E-bus is expected to be delivered in stages. Olectra’s pure electric buses will significantly reduce noise and emissions for the city of Hyderabad. “

A statement from Mr. Bajireddy Govardhan, chairman of the MLA and the TSRTC, stated that “TSRTC plans to have 3,400 electric buses available across the state over the next two years.”

According to MD VC Sajjanar, IPS, the first phase of the project will see the deployment of 550 Olectra E-buses in the GCC. It is expected that all of these buses will be deployed in stages.
