Solaris begins delivery of 12 hydrogen buses to Bolzano

Solaris Bus & Coach has begun the delivery of vehicles under a deal signed in May 2019. Solaris has begun delivery of 12 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen models, finalizing a contract signed in May 2019. Public transport operator SASA Bolzano, Italy was the first of Solaris’ clients to opt for the hydrogen Urbino model.

T&E: Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands lead deployments of zero-emission buses in Europe

In Sweden, Norway and Finland, respectively 26%, 24%, and 23% of urban buses registered in 2019 were zero-emission (electric or hydrogen). In 2019, less than 10% of their newly-registered urban buses were electric or hydrogen. Italy, Poland, Germany, the UK, Spain and France, which buy 70% of the urban buses sold in Europe, lag behind.

BMW Group creates closed-loop material cycle for tungsten production tools

The BMW Group has created a closed-loop material cycle for tungsten used in drill and milling bits for industrial machinery used in producing cars; the company is collecting old drill and milling bits at its plants in Germany and Austria for recycling. About half of this comes from the BMW Group plant in Steyr, Austria.

Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck prototype repeatedly crosses Brenner Pass in high-altitude testing

Vienna transit operator orders 60 Mercedes-Benz e-Citaro electric buses

The Wiener Linien transport company in Vienna, Austria has ordered 60 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro vehicles. Wiener Linien recently completed the renewal of the bus fleet comprising around 400 vehicles at the end of 2019. The low-floor buses with zero local emissions will be delivered from next year until 2025.
