New research by the IHS Markit Canadian Oil Sands Dialogue shows that the combined greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity of Canadian oil sands projects has declined 20% from 2009 levels. The latest data show that the greenhouse gas intensity of Canadian oil sands going down further, continuing a decade-long trend.

Williams has signed a new long-term gas processing agreement with a Canadian oil sands producer. The NGL/olefins recovered are expected to be approximately 12,000 barrels per day (bpd) by mid-2015 and growing to approximately 15,000 bpd by 2018.

Suncor is targeting 1 million barrels per day output in 2020, with its growth in the oil sands underpinned by its alliance with Total. Approximately 80% of that production will be from the oil sands.
