Port of Long Beach achieves record pollution reductions; diesel PM down 88%, NOx down 56%

The Port of Long Beach has achieved clean air records in its latest study of air pollution emissions, including an 88% reduction in diesel particulate matter. With the opening of Long Beach Container Terminal, 11% of the Port’s fleet of cargo-handling equipment is zero-emissions.

Long Beach Transit receives $600K grant for 40 Cummins near-zero CNG engines

Hertz adds 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to rental fleet

The Hertz Corporation, which includes the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, has expanded of its Green Traveler Collection car rental fleet to include the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid ( earlier post ) in select cities across the US. Additionally, the company currently has 15 solar locations, with projected growth to 20 by 2016.

California Air Resources Board settles with COSCO Container Lines for $965,000; >2,600 air quality violations from 2014-2017

The violations were discovered during routine audits of the Shanghai-based company’s 2014-2017 fleet visits to the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach and the Port of Oakland.
