Bangalore based EV startup Ultraviolette Automotives has again made it into the headlines of automotive news.
The company has announced their F77 Space edition to commemorate and acknowledge India’s remarkable space voyage and the nation’s enormous contributions to the aerospace world. The F77 Space edition is made with specially machined 7075 aluminium with aerospace quality.
The company claims that this limited-edition masterpiece, which combines cutting-edge technology with aerospace-inspired design.

Ultraviolette Automotives: Disrupting 2-Wheeler Landscape
Ultraviolette Automotives has been making headlines since its inception and we see great potential in the company to disrupt the Indian 2-wheeler EV market.
The company is relatively new but a potential player in the energy infrastructure and sustainable mobility sector. Ultraviolette Automotive was founded in 2016 by Niraj Rajmohan and Narayan Subramaniam.
The company was founded based on the vision of developing premium mobility solutions powered by cutting-edge design and energy-saving technologies. Ultraviolette Automotive is creating the first ecosystem of high-performance electric cars and energy infrastructure that is ready for the future in India.
The First High-performance E-Motorcycle From India
Ultraviolette F77, the first High-performance electric motorcycle from India was unveiled at an event in Bangalore in 2019. However, the model was launched and started taking bookings in November 2022. There were significant changes in the model made after the unveiling in 2019.
When it comes to the modifications made over the 2019 prototype, the entire chassis has been completely redesigned, and it now has a spine piece that connects the headstock to the load-bearing motor mount.
The Ultraviolette F77’s lightweight chassis improves handling when driving. According to the manufacturer, the e-bike motor mount is now 30% lighter and twice as rigid, providing improved stability.
Compared to the previous frame, the new frame has double the strength. It is not detachable, and the battery pack is suspended underneath.
According to Ultraviolette, the company put a lot of effort into making sure that the battery pack’s air-cooling mechanism effectively managed heat.
The stationary lithium-ion battery pack that powers the electric bike will have more energy than before. According to the company, the motorcycle has a range of 307 km and the aluminium-encased battery pack is the biggest battery pack to be installed in an electric motorcycle.
The High-Performance Design
In the design department, the Ultraviolette F77 has a sporty appearance. It has a triangle LED tail light and complete LED headlamp assembly. Wider tyres, a contoured fuel tank, a scooped seat with a stepped-up pillion seat, rear-placed foot pegs, and a low-set handlebar all contribute to its athletic appearance.
The Ultraviolette F77 has side panels for effective battery cooling and several other safety measures. With a 9-axis IMU that includes an integrated accelerometer and gyroscope.
The model has three ride modes: glide, combat, and ballistic. Along with standard braking features like a 320mm front disc and 230mm rear disc, it also boasts 17-inch wheels with Metzeler tyres on the front and 150/60 on the back. It’s; tech appropriate thanks to advanced features including Bluetooth-enabled TFT screen, ABS, and ride-by-wire throttle.
Monoshock is used for rear suspension and USD fork for front suspension. Preload adjustability is included upfront for Recon and Special Edition models.
The F77: Screaming Speed On The Go
The F77 Recon is packed with a powerful 10.3kWh battery pack and an electric motor capable of delivering 39 horsepower and 95 Nm of torque and offers a range of 307 with a top speed of 147 km/h. The standard model has a 7.1kWh battery and can go 206 kilometres at a top speed of 140 km/h.
The limited edition F77 has 40 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque. This bike has a peak speed of 152 km/h and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
Even though it was introduced in the electric two-wheeler market, its performance suggests that it will compete with the BMW G310RR, TVS Apache RR 310, and KTM RC 390.
The F77: Delivery Schedule
Ultraviolette made plans to deliver the F77 electric motorbike in three stages. Deliveries under Phase 1 were said to be started in January 2023 in Bengaluru, the home city of Ultraviolette but started in late February.
Phase 2 has been divided into three more sections. The company planned to start delivering the F77 in Q2 2023 (April–June) to Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Cochin as part of the initial portion of Phase 2. Phase 2’s second phase will start in the cities of Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Lucknow in Q3 of 2023 (July–September).
Phase 2’s third and last section entails starting deliveries in Q4 2023 (October–December) in Gurugram, Jaipur, Kolkata, Guwahati, and Ludhiana.
Realistic Expansion Plans
The Ultraviolette F77 will eventually be available for purchase in markets such as Europe, North America, South America, Japan, and other Southeast Asian countries; however, a specific release date has not yet been determined.The company said that while the F77 electric motorbike would be available in other markets as well (during Phase 3), delivery to Indian customers is the priority.
Though there will be some changes in the delivery schedule, Ultraviolette will be able to better meet customer demand and provide customers with a realistic timeframe for when their motorbike will arrive.
The F77 Space Edition: Built Like A SpaceCraft
According to Ultraviolette, the F77 Space edition is made with specially machined 7075 aluminium, which is aerospace quality. These components are made of a high-strength alloy called aluminium 7075, which is much lighter than steel and has a tensile strength that is similar to many steels. It also has a great strength-to-weight ratio.
The space edition will be painted with paint that provides outstanding resistance to corrosion, UV rays and fading, chemicals, and heat stability. Also, the finish is said to improve the overall performance by lowering drag, which boosts efficiency.
Additionally, the Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition will receive cutting-edge interfaces and electronics-based aircraft technology. These comprise many failsafe battery systems, and the system’s 9-axis IMU allows it to measure roll, pitch, and yaw, exactly as in an aeroplane.
An electric motor with a peak output of 30.2 kW (40.5 hp) and a peak torque of 100 Nm powers the Ultraviolette F77 space edition. According to the company, the bike has a top speed of 152 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
The special edition will be made with only 10 numbers and will be priced at Rs 5.6 lakh (ex-showroom).
