Minnesota has become the latest state to adopt California clean car standards; the new standards were finalized by a notice in the state register on Monday. The policy will implement two clean cars standards to reduce vehicle emissions. Original map from Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Every 2015 Buick model will come standard with a rearview camera. While they’re not standard on every car, yet, it’s rare to operate a new vehicle without them. Every Buick also comes with OnStar Automatic Crash Response, standard for six months. Rear backup cameras have become like power windows and air conditioning.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a new review of the Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). EPA established the current standards at a level of 70 parts per billion in 2015 and retained them in 2020, after concluding that there was little new information to suggest the need for revision.

A series of several high-profile derailments and explosions prompted the US and Canadian governments to reexamine the safety standards that govern the transport of class 3 flammable liquids. In 2019, 112,685 rail tank cars were used to carry Class 3 flammable liquids, which is nearly as many as the 2015 fleet of 113,045 rail tank cars.

Oregon’s Department on Environmental Quality (DEQ) is inviting public comment on a proposed rulemaking that would fully implement Oregon’s low carbon fuel standard (LCFS).
