Teijin Frontier develops first tire cord made from eco-friendly adhesive and recycled polyester

Due to its use of an adhesive polymer compound instead of RF, the new tire cord reduces the environmental impact of adhesive processing. Its chemically recycled fibers, which are made from polymers produced with a chemical recycling method, maintain their strength, fatigue resistance, dimensional stability and heat resistance.

Novozymes, Cargill to continue bio-acrylic acid partnership as BASF exits; looking for new commercialization partner

Novozymes and Cargill have collaborated on the project since 2008 and will continue their work to commercialize bio-based 3-HP and derivatives. In 2013, the project accomplished the production of 3-HP in pilot scale, and in September 2014 announced the successful conversion of 3-HP to glacial acrylic acid and super-absorbent polymers.

BASF, Cargill and Novozymes partner to develop commercial bio-based acrylic acid process

Novozymes and Cargill have collaborated on renewable acrylic acid technology since 2008. The company plans initially to use the bio-based acrylic acid to manufacture super-absorbent polymers. Presently, acrylic acid is produced by the oxidation of propylene derived from the refining of crude oil.
