Investors in Paseo Biofuels, LLC, the Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) and Cargill announced an expansion to the Paseo biodiesel plant in Kansas City, Mo. Using soybean oil as its primary feedstock, the facility, which opened in 2008, produces 40 million gallons of biodiesel and 30 million pounds of food-grade glycerin annually.

Since the first year of the DERA program in 2008, EPA has competitively awarded more than 790 grants and 420 rebates across the country. Region 7 (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska) will accept proposals requesting up to $1,500,000 in grant funds. EPA anticipates releasing a separate Tribal DERA grant funding opportunity in early 2020.
