Paseo Biofuels boosting biodiesel capacity by 40%

Investors in Paseo Biofuels, LLC, the Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) and Cargill announced an expansion to the Paseo biodiesel plant in Kansas City, Mo. Using soybean oil as its primary feedstock, the facility, which opened in 2008, produces 40 million gallons of biodiesel and 30 million pounds of food-grade glycerin annually.

Ford US sales up 5% in April; SUVs post an April record, hybrid sales down 31%

Kansas City Assembly, the second assembly plant building the popular new F-150, continues to ramp up production through the second quarter. Lincoln retail sales increased 25%, providing Lincoln with its best April retail results since 2008. Sales in April were, however, up 7% from 116 units to 124.

Smith Electric Vehicles US finalizes purchase of Smith Electric UK for $15M; staging for IPO
