Chevrolet introduces Cruze Hatch; 1.4L turbo GDI and Stop/Start

Chevrolet introduced the 2017 Cruze Hatchback on the eve of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It joins Colorado and Trax as the latest Chevrolets to push into new segments. Cruze is Chevrolet’s best-selling car around the world, with 3.5 million sold since it went on sale in 2008.

GM Egypt to produce the Chevrolet Move in 2012; first SAIC-GM-Wuling vehicle assembled outside of China

SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) announced today that the assembly of its Chevrolet Move—sold as the Wuling Rong Guang in China—will be assembled at General Motors Egypt starting in the third quarter of 2012. The Chevrolet Move will be the first Chinese vehicle assembled by GM in Egypt and the first SGMW vehicle assembled outside China.

New Chevrolet Small Car to Be Built at GM Uzbekistan Joint Venture

The agreement will enable GM Uzbekistan, a joint venture between GM and UzAvtoSanoat in Asaka, Uzbekistan, to manufacture and sell a new small Chevrolet vehicle developed for the rapidly growing emerging markets in the region. 4-cylinder engines now account for 46% of Chevrolet retail sales, up from 23% in 2007

In 2007, four-cylinder models represented 23% of Chevrolet retail sales in the US— less than either V-6 or V-8 equipped models.
