Johnson Controls has been manufacturing AGM batteries since 2001 and has produced 28 million batteries since 2007. Johnson Controls can now address nearly 90% of the cars in the US that would require a replacement AGM battery, including high-electrical-load vehicles and stop-start vehicles, which are expected to grow globally by 60% by 2025.

Aptiv’s autonomous driving engineers have been leading the development of software for high-performing self-driving cars since the historic 2007 DARPA Challenge. The company conducted the first coast-to-coast automated drive in the United States in 2015, and was the first commercially to deploy autonomous vehicles globally.

The celebration kicked off during the IEEE Rising Stars conference, held from 5 to 7 January in Las Vegas.

The study expands on findings published in 2007 in the journal Science that the American Southwest is becoming more arid as temperatures rise and rainfall patterns shift. To put the Colorado flow projections in context, a 10% decline is about five times the amount of water that Las Vegas uses in a year, said Udall.
