Honda Recalls 2006-2007 Civic Hybrids To Replace DC-DC Converter

Honda said yesterday it would recall 36,700 of its 2006 and 2007 Civic Hybrid models to replace a key component of the Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system. The part to be replaced is the DC-to-DC converter, which adjusts the voltage of power moved among different components of the hybrid system.

GM, Toyota continue to lead plug-in market in US

Honda confirm CR-Z hybrid production

Honda’s new CEO, Takanobu Ito has today announced plans to begin sales in Japan of the CR-Z sports hybrid model in February 2010. The start date for EU sales of the new hybrid coupe will be released towards the end of 2009. The CR-Z concept vehicle made its world debut at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show in 2007.

US LDV Sales Fall 37.1% in January; January SAAR Below 10 Million

There were 26 selling days in January 2009, compared to 25 selling days in January 2007. Honda sold 1,076 units of the Civic Hybrid (down 38.3%), and one Accord Hybrid. With average gasoline prices (all grades) remaining down from their highs in mid-2008, light trucks continued to outsell cars in January 2009.
