On Saturday, the Mayflower Incident Unified Command Joint Information Center said that emergency response personnel were on the ground within 30 minutes after the leak was detected. In 2006, its reversal was completed, and in 2009, ExxonMobil completed a project that increased its capacity by 50% (about 30,000 barrels per day).

The report for the Department for Transport is based on a survey module included in the Office for National Statistics’ Opinions (Omnibus) survey which has been carried out each August since 2006. Correspondingly, the proportion not trusting any source has increased significantly over time, from 6% in 2006 to 12% in 2009.
