The 92 retrofitted hybrid vehicles will be placed into service in California, primarily in the Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco metropolitan areas. FedEx and our suppliers have demonstrated that converted hybrids are a viable, lower-cost option compared to purchasing new hybrids.

DARPA ] Tech Panel: In 2004, DARPA launched interest in self-driving vehicles with a Grand Challenge. Today, we have a fully driverless taxi services in San Francisco and Phoenix. Back then, none of the vehicles could even finish the course. But while rapid progress has been made, fully automated vehicles aren’t yet the norm.

The next year he chaired the 2004 European Magnetic Sensors and Actuators Conference. There he conducted research on ICs for communications and saw the potential of metal-oxide semiconductors.
