DOE announces $187M to support electrification of transportation sector

Proton Motors receives two orders for total of 33 HyModule S8 units

Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH has received two new orders for the HyModule S8 hydrogen fuel cell system. The emission-free product is designed for the autonomous provision of energy and heat. GKN Hydrogen Italy placed an order for an additional 15 HyModule S8 hydrogen fuel cell systems. Taking into account previous orders, GKN Hydrogen has now ordered 46 HyModule S8 units in total from Proton Motor.

Canada refuses to permit seabed mining absent regulatory regime

The Government of Canada will refuse to permit seabed mining absent a rigorous regulatory regime. Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources, and Joyce Murray, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, released a statement confirming Canada’s position: Canada does not currently have a domestic legal framework that would permit seabed mining; and In the absence of such a framework, the Government of Canada will not authorize seabed mining in areas under its jurisdiction.

TECO 2030 and AVL to conduct feasibility study for fuel cell system for heavy-duty trucks

TECO 2030 and AVL List have signed a contract for a feasibility study of developing and industrializing a Fuel Cell System for heavy-duty (HD) trucks. The feasibility study starts immediately and is expected to be completed in 2 months. After successful completion, TECO 2030 plans to industrialize this heavy-duty fuel cell system and manufacture them at the Innovation Center and gigafactory in Narvik, Norway.

VIKINGBUS Danmark A/S has ordered 45 MAN Lion’s City 12 E electric buses, which will be on the road in Denmark’s capital city from next year. The transport company won a tender to operate bus routes in Copenhagen from the Public Transport Authority (PTA) Movia and will in future operate routes in Denmark’s capital as well as on Frederiksberg, in Lyngby, Greve and Høje Taastrup.

Nikkei: Japan to develop seabed mining of rare earth materials
