FLO | AddEnergy Launches Deployment of 120 Charging Stations in New York

QUEBEC CITY, Quebec, May 6, 2021 — FLO | AddEnergy began the shipment of 120 charging stations from its Shawinigan, Quebec plant for the first deployment of the FLO network in New York. Over the next few months, about 100 of these bollards will be installed along the sidewalk at 34 different locations across the city’s five boroughs. The remaining 20 will be installed at four locations and will be used to support the process of electrification of the New York City fleet. All terminals are part of a joint pilot project between the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) and Con Edison.

“Our U.S. expansion strategy is currently in accelerated mode, and this is an important step for FLO | AddEnergy, said Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO | AddEnergy. The New York site represents our second largest urban deployment in the United States, after the one in Los Angeles. We are extremely proud of the ongoing collaboration we have established with Con Edison and NYCDOT. The result has been a tailor-made solution that will successfully integrate with New York’s famous urban fabric. »

All of the terminals installed will be powered by Con Edison, who will also coordinate the installation work with NYCDOT. Con Edison, the energy company that serves New York City, chose FLO | AddEnergy as a provider of charging stations and network services.

“New York has enormous potential for the adoption of electric vehicles,” says Tremblay. The organization of recharging in a densified urban environment, where residential charging is not available, is also a major challenge. To address this, it is necessary not only to rely on first-rate equipment, but also on precise knowledge in network operations. We are pleased to apply our extensive experience in street kiosk deployments in the “Big Apple” and to do our part to facilitate the adoption of EVs by all New York motorists in fairness. »
