However I have been busy buying parts and I building myslef a lab power supply for a old computer ATX power supply which I had lying around. I tested them both with my power supply and they clunk when I apply 12V so I assume all good. Had to replace the lower control arm on my Volvo V70xc. What a pain that is?

one well need to add Power to the HV Battery. One can turn 2001-2003 Prius as Electric Car very easily and cheaply.All one has do is to remove the EFI fuse once ign. is no and you get "READY" indication. But now it well only go about 1.7 or less unit the HV battery down to far.So One needed about min of 160 volt.

Now instead of batteries arrange the front end to fit a two stroke engine (two strokes are easiest to convert to steam) running a generator head with enough current to power the 50 hp motor. 18 Oct: I had a chain and sprocket fixed to the motor hub, to come out of the adapter plate and drive a shaft so I could use the traction motor to drive aircon and power steering. I'll try to get it running and do the aircon and power steering later. Lubrication, chain durability and too-low rpms are issues.

I''d like to get one that will accomodate DC aircon, power steering and vacuum pump for $200. A failed return spring seems to be the only major fault that AC systems can have that would launch me through a red light. Still looking on ebay for an appropriate Vicor megapac. Lots to choose from but only a few with 12-12.5v Could take a while.

So I''ve been using a PC 500w ATX power supply for the 12v that my BMS needs. I don''t want to pay up for a DC-DC unit until I can see the rest of it working. It may be enough to run the motor controller too, with the back wheels jacked up so I can see them spin. After 2 years of dragging on I would like that.

If you want all the benefits of this great and robust power standard, google other projects, I skipped all those subtleties and got'r'done! I took the car to the nearest charging station and tested it at full power today. I didn't realize this and spent 10 minutes unsoldering/resoldering. This all went together in about an hour.

It totally lacks torque, and once you leave even packed dirt for grass it loses power. This is a 24 volt system, and made for flat, hard surfaces. Though it works fairly well on hard packed services, even mild hills. Obviously the gearing in the transaxle is totally wrong. So I write that one up to lessons learned.

I have grown to prefer the feel of it over a power rack, and my wife seems to like it too. Alternatively, I could always add to my LiFePo4 pack, and throw in a more powerful motor. For those people, I tell them to keep it in 2nd gear. I like to use 1st and 2nd personally. The other big difference is that it is a manual steering rack.
