Manufacturers add synthetic antioxidants to plastics, rubbers and other polymers to make them last longer. Now, researchers have detected a broad range of emerging synthetic antioxidants, called hindered phenol and sulfur antioxidants, in dust from electronic waste (e-waste) recycling workshops, possibly posing risks for the workers inside.

Audi has identified chemical recycling as an opportunity together with its suppliers as part of CO 2 workshops. PET is a plastic polymer that can be separated from other materials with which it may have been combined and is therefore easier to recycle. The most recent example is the utilization of PET in the Audi A3.

An NREL report summarizing the 2011 Alkaline Membrane Fuel Cell Workshop noted that: In comparison with PEMFCs, AMFCs offer the advantage of avoiding Pt or Pt group metal (PGM) electrocatalysts, one of the primary limitations in the commercial deployment of fuel cells. … An alternative is the alkaline environment of the AEMFC. 2011.04.043.
