It seems that Mike is more of a mechanical person than an electronics person. Apparently I'm the only person with an operational AC kit currently, although several other people are hot on the trail to finishing theirs. When I told Mike that I easily pulled > 150 amps during acceleration, he seemed a bit surprised.

This was a big evening of figuring out how to remove the transmission with one person. First up was removing the rear portion of the exhaust system, shown here next to my trusty 34mpg 1994 Saturn. Someone else converted a '94 Saturn Wagon to an EV, but I'll keep mine!) Here is the removed transmission.

Beth Silverman, the support person, has been very quick to respond with whatever information she can provide from the controller designers. There are also some LED signals that display system status without having to use the serial port. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all the tech support that Azure Dynamics has provided.

The outer edge of the flywheel looks very smooth with little runout, but perhaps the person who machined off the teeth didn't get the outer edge centered well. The outer edge of the clutch pressure plate also experienced significant runout during a spin. This actually concerns me quite a bit.

One person suggested I send the adapter back to ElectroAuto since the cone was flawed. It worked remarkably well at popping off the adapter from the motor shaft with minimal effort and no possibility of damage to the threads on the inner cone of the adapter.

People feel connected when they can contribute to another person's success and I found no end to help for this project. As mentioned above, I received support from the 914 community, the EV community, my co-workers, and many friends. Converting a 914 to electric is a process.

I've contacted Randy Pollock, the first person to order a 914 AC kit and he and I are working to figure this out. Since this kit is the 914 AC kit, I have no idea how to install the controller plate. In addition, ElectroAuto hasn't sent any hardware (specifically the rivnuts) so I can install many of these pieces.
