Review of co-processing of biocrudes in oil refineries

After pyrolysis, the vapors are condensed to give a dark brown fast pyrolysis bio-oil (FPBO). In fast pyrolysis, biomass is quickly heated to around 500 °C in the absence of oxygen.

Researchers find carbon-nanotube-based fluids improve enhanced oil recovery methods

Researchers in India are using multi-wall carbon nanotube-optimized surfactant-polymer flooding for enhanced oil recovery. In an open-access paper in the journal Fuel , they report that their experimental application of carbon nanotube-based fluids yielded an oil recovery factor of approximately 70% of the original oil in place.

ExxonMobil increased its estimate of the discovered recoverable resource for the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana ( earlier post ) to approximately 10 billion oil-equivalent barrels. The Cataback-1 well encountered 243 feet (74 meters) of net pay in high quality hydrocarbon bearing sandstone reservoirs.

Woodside approves investment in $7.2B Trion development in deepwater Gulf of Mexico; first oil in 2028
