Additionally, the Oregon legislature is considering a measure to establish a cap-and-trade system that is compatible with California’s. The Canadian province is expected to link with California’s program in 2018, becoming the second jurisdiction to join California following Quebec in 2014.

The recent record-breaking heat in Oregon and Washington state, for example, claimed more than 200 lives. COVID-19 changed all that.

In a recent talk on AVTA for Oregon EV planners, Jim Francfort from INL made the following macro observations from the testing results so far: Driver behavior, charging frequency, and environmental conditions have significant impacts on electric drive vehicles’ 80-85% energy efficiencies and mpg results. This project started about a month ago when I became co-chair of the Oregon Electric Vehicles Association. While people can purchase neighborhood electric vehicles today for about $10K, they only have a top speed of 35 miles an hour or so, essentially glorified golf-carts.

Take Nick Fornero, 30, from Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. Jason Hanely from Oregon, Ohio was the only fan I spoke to with strong specific complaints, but he also said "everything has been great so far." Most, if not all, of the drivers sounded a positive tune after being on track. Fans, too, seemed pretty happy with the event.
