Shell starts production at Vito in US Gulf of Mexico; new, simplified design

With an estimated peak production of 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, Vito is the company’s first deep-water platform in the GoM to employ a simplified, cost-efficient host design. Shell is the leading operator in the US Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas production. Vito is Shell’s 13 th deep-water host in the Gulf of Mexico.

Maersk Drilling awarded contract extension to drill world record well in Angola; 2.25-mile water depth

The work on Ondjaba-1 commenced in October 2021, after which the rig is scheduled to move to Namibia to drill the Venus well. The contract extension has an estimated duration of 54 days, which means that Maersk Voyager is now contracted until February 2022. One one-well option remains on the contract.

ExxonMobil to explore offshore South Africa; deal for 75% interest in Tugela South
