This year Independence Day can be said as super electrified as two powerful electric scooters had been launched in India. One is the Ola Electric scooter- Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro models and the other launch was India’s longest-range electric scooter Simple One. Simple Energy is a Bengaluru-based start-up that has unveiled its first electric scooter Simple One with a price tag of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is also eligible for the FAME II subsidy of Rs 60,000 but this may be based on the state-wise subsidies. The company has also started its refundable pre-bookings from its website for Rs 1,947. The Simple One electric scooter comes with four riding modes Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic. It is available in four colour options, dynamic paint schemes like Namma Red, Azure Blue, Grace White and Brazen Black colour scheme. The scooter looks sporty and futuristic with the different colour themes it is providing on the bodywork.

Features

It has 12-inch wheels suspended by telescopic forks and a mono-shock and disc brakes at front and back.  It has a full-colour, fully-customisable 7.0-inch touchscreen, which has Bluetooth and 4G connectivity, onboard navigation, geo-fencing and vehicle tracking functions. It has music controls, and message and call alerts, remote telemetrics and even a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). 

Specifications 

The Simple One electric scooter provides a range of 236 km and gives a top speed of 105kmph. It is equipped with a 4.8kWh removable lithium-ion battery and it is powered by a 4.5kW motor which gives 72NM of torque. It can accelerate up to 0-40kmph in less than 3 seconds. It can be charged from any 15A charging socket or at home which will take less than three hours to go from 0 to 80 per cent. It does also have fast charging options, 10 mins of charging will give a 25 km of range.

The company will expand to 75 cities across 13 states in the next couple of months, it is also planning to marks its footsteps in about 176 cities by August next year. It is also planning to install l 300 ‘Simple Loop’ fast-charging points in the next seven months.

The Simple One has been launched across 13 states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Punjab. It has recently launched the Simple Loop charging network for public charging as well as home charging. The company aims to launch over 300 charging stations in the next 7 months across 13 states.
