Masdar Institute files US patent for Li-ion solid polymer electrolyte battery technology

UAE-based Masdar Institute of Science and Technology has filed a provisional patent application with the US Patents and Trademarks Office for a new solid polymer electrolyte technology for Li-ion batteries. Masdar Institute was established as an on-going collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

A123 Venture Technologies to collaborate with SolidEnergy on safer, high-energy battery chemistry; potentially up to ~800 Wh/kg
