Electric vehicles sales in India increased in November 2021 

Electric vehicles sales in India is growing rapidly with the total registered EV sales of about 42,067 units. The UK has also marked the increase after several months of decline, in November 21,726 BEVs were registered.

Electric vehicles sales are rapidly growing day by day, in the first half of 2021 the sales have increased by 26% with 2.6 million units representing 26% of new sales in the global automotive market.

According to the Centre for Energy Finance at Council on Energy, Environment and Water at Centre for Energy Finance (CEEW-CEF) until September, electric two-wheeler sales stood at 58,264 units and three-wheelers at 59,808 units. India has already sold 1.18 lakh EVs which is said to be 90% of the total sales last FY.

The sales of electric vehicles in India has witnessed growth with the registered 42,067 units in November 2021 when compared with 12,858 units in November 2020 and 38,715 units in October 2021.

Electric vehicles sales in UK

In the UK most of the plug-in sales are all-electric cars and they are also growing much faster than plug-in hybrids by 110% in November. The BEVs registered 21,726, PHEVs registered 10,796 which is in total is 32,522 at the market share of 28.1%.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors a leading electric car marker in India has sold 1751 units of its Tata Nexon EV and as well as Tigor EVs in November 2021. The sales of electric vehicles are 4 times more when compared to 413 units sold in November 2020.

Hero Electric

Hero Electric India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer has sold 7,000 units of its city speed electric two-wheelers in the Indian market in November 2021. It has witnessed a great increase in its sales when compared to the sales number of 1,169 units last year in November. Hero Electric’s portfolio offers both city-speed as well as low-speed models in the Indian market.

Joy e-Bike

WardWizard Innovations and Mobility an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer which sells under the Joy e-Bike brand has also witnessed great sales of its electric vehicles in November 2021. The company’s sales stood at 13,516 units nearly sevenfold growth compared to the 1,957 electric two-wheelers sold during the same period in 2020.
