BYD and Long Beach Transit terminate electric bus contract

BYD Motors, Inc. has agreed to mutually terminate its contract with Long Beach Transportation Company (LBT) for the delivery of 10 electric buses. —Stella Li, CEO of BYD Motors, Inc. LBT announced that BYD won the competition for the contract on 24 March 2013.

Airgas to pilot two Hyzon Motors heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell trucks; 100 kW and 200 KW

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, has signed an agreement with Hyzon Motors, a global supplier of zero-emissions hydrogen fuel-cell-powered commercial vehicles, to pilot two heavy duty hydrogen fuel cell trucks, including one 100 kW fuel cell truck and the first Hyzon 200 kW hydrogen fuel cell truck to be tested commercially.

Port of Long Beach and Vision Motor Corp. to develop and demonstrate two fuel-cell-powered heavy-duty trucks

Vision trucks will be put into service and evaluated by Cal Cartage and TTSI, two trucking companies that operate at the Port of Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles. The Port of Long Beach is contributing $425,000 to assist in the project development and demonstration.

Vision Motor delivering two Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell hybrid trucks to Ports of LA and Long Beach

Under an agreement struck earlier this year ( earlier post ) Vision Motor Corp. will deliver one big-rig truck and one terminal tractor for testing for 18 months to the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, with an anticipated start in early 2011. Both vehicles are electric trucks, with batteries recharged by hydrogen fuel cells.
