Zipcar to expand Zipvan cargo van service across North America

Zipcar is launching the Zipvan service in Seattle, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Portland, Oregon today, and will roll out the service to its remaining metro markets in North America over the next 12 months. Zipvan started in London and today accounts for more than 10% of Zipcar’s UK operation. Car-sharing network Zipcar, Inc.

Ford Smart Mobility shifts from research to implementation; company announces new programs, next areas of focus

Ford Motor Credit Company announced today Peer-2-Peer Car Sharing—a pilot program for select customers in six US cities and in London. US customers participate through the Web-based, mobile-friendly software of ride-share company Getaround, while London drivers connect through a similar rental system of easyCar Club.

Renault-Nissan Alliance and Electromotive to Collaborate on Charging Infrastructure

Elektromotive, which is based in Brighton, England, started developing charging station technology in 2003 and installed its first Elektrobay charging post in Westminster in the centre of London in 2006. To date, it has installed more than 40 charging bays in London and a further 40 in other major UK cities.
