Mine was set to 136 volts. It turns out that if the voltage coming from my batteries fell into the 136 to 149 volt range (EE2NoAccelBat + EE2AccelRamp = 149), then the controller would linearly limit the power going into the motor down to zero when the voltage reached 136. I recommend this alteration to anyone using this kit!

The 914 AC kit uses 8V golf cart batteries and I'm wondering if different batteries like Hawkers or Optima Yellow-Top batteries would be better. Both US-Battery and Trojan have 8-volt golf-cart batteries. We might possibly work together on a project after chatting at the next OEVA (Oregon Electric Vehicle Association) meeting.

Electric coolers can plug into your vehicle’s 12-volt outlet, but pay attention to the type of cooling mechanism — the less expensive versions are usually thermoelectric and will cool only to about 30 degrees below ambient temperature (if it is 70 degrees in the car, it will cool to 40 degrees).

Jo has done an excellent job of "pimping" the ride, the original kit from Blue Sky Designs in Oregon. He and Charlie put in a FatBoy Harley Davidson rear tire with belt drive to a 72 volt motor. Charlie is small enough to get behind the wheel, yes, wheel on this motorcycle. It also has floor brakes and accelerator.
