To measure freight efficiency, DTNA ran vehicle testing on highway routes in Oregon and Texas; one city route in Portland, Ore.; Friction-reducing measures include a variable speed water pump, a clutched air compressor, low-viscosity oil and an improved cylinder kit. and anti-idle testing in both a cold chamber and hot chamber.

I ran the meeting for the Oregon Electric Vehicles Association last night and several people seemed interested in the open-source EV kit. Next up: organizing the civic-ev-kit Google group to get tasks lined up. I really appreciate working on electric vehicles due to the lack of fluids and other dirt. Cheers, Tim.

Other interesting news: I'm resigning as chairperson of the local Oregon Electric Vehicle Association. It's been a good run for the past two years, but I'm tired of running the organization and it's time that someone with better organizational skills to step up.

Jerry is the owner of a PHEV Prius with Plug in Supply conversion kit, plus solar panels on the roof installed by Bob Bruninga, Naval Academy engineering professor. It also has floor brakes and accelerator. 6000+ miles.
