eBikeGo to launch its made in India electric scooter on August 25

August month it seems to be for electric vehicles, after the launch of Ola Electric and the Simple Energy One and the electric four-wheeler Tata Tigor EV and now eBikeGo a Mumbai-based electric two-wheeler mobility company has teased its electric scooter called Rugged which is set to be launched on August 25, 2021.

The scooter is completely designed and manufactured in India and it will be eligible for the FAME II subsidies. It has also been tested and approved by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT). The company has just teased the vehicle and the complete details will be shared on the launch date that is August 25.

Irfan Khan, Founder & CEO of eBikeGo has said that “We at eBikeGo decided to take the bull by the horns after waiting for three years for someone to come in and create a robust electric bike that is affordable and can be adopted by the public. After evaluating multiple OEMs in the industry, we zeroed down on Boom Motors for the design and manufacturing of the vehicle. Purely based on the Indian road conditions, the petabytes of data generated from our own delivery and rental operations are shared with Boom Motors founded by Anirudh Ravi Narayanan. This information is used as an input matrix for the vehicle’s design and production. We are extremely happy to launch India’s most sustainable, smartest and robust electric moto-scooter ‘Rugged’, which will transform the course of e-mobility in India and push the boundaries of innovation in the electric bike segment”

eBikeGo last year had announced that it will create a complete mobility solution for unemployment in India. It will create employment and synergy amongst the company, drivers and AI and IoT enabled e-scooters for timely and safe.

eBikeGo is currently operating in five Indian cities, Delhi, Amritsar, Jaipur, Jalandhar, and Agra. Now it is targeting Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata. The startup’s e-bike offers a top speed of 55km/h and a range up to 100 km per charge. eBikeGo works with many different companies to transform the fleets to electric. The startup has successfully provided fleet solutions to the delivery companies such as Zomato, Delhivery, Ferns & Petals, Gostops, Big Basket, Ninja Cart amongst others.

eBikeGo aims to create 10,000 to 15000 employment in a defined period of time and reach 1 million individual entrepreneurs by 2025. The delivery companies will also have the benefit of not worrying about recruiting drivers, scooters, logistics and monitoring each delivery. The modern technology that is Telematics devices for tracking and monitoring vehicles movement will enable smooth and timely delivery of goods to the consumers.

The company announced its plan to expand its fleet and aims for a pre-series fund of another $2 million or Rs 14 crore fund. The startup aims to hold 5 per cent of the commercial two-wheeler market by 2021. It has witnessed tremendous growth in 2017 and it had 640 users to 18,000 users by 2019
