Car-sharing operator Zipcar and the Westminster City Council in London have launched a new car sharing club fleet that will initially include 20 hybrid vehicles and will offer members access to the country’s first all-electric car club vehicle, a Citroen c1.

During its first month of sales, the Honda Insight has outsold its competitors in the hybrid market. Since going on sale in the UK, 229 Insight models have been sold ahead of its nearest rival the Toyota Prius at 198 units. The Insight 1.3-litre Move over Toyota Prius - there’s a new green car leader in town.

The title of WhatGreenCar Car of the Year 2009 has been awarded to the ‘next generation’ Toyota Prius, due to be launched in the UK on 1 st August 2009.
