The end-of-year holiday season is just really starting, but information on Detroit auto show debuts next month is coming in. A new hybrid car from one of the pioneers of hybrid-electric vehicles is notable, and that's what Honda has delivered.

The Honda Insight hybrid is no more. That''s the confirmation from Honda itself, as slow sales prompt the Japanese automaker to end production of its flagship hybrid. According to Bloomberg, Honda informed dealers back in November that Insight production would stop this month, and asked them to stop taking orders on the model.

The US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy today released the 2010 Fuel Economy Guide, which gives consumers information about estimated fuel costs and mileage standards for model year 2010 vehicles. For MY 2010, the Prius is the top fuel economy leader , with EPA ratings of 51/48 mpg city/highway.
