The Alliance for Climate Protection, Al Gore's group, has taken another step toward promoting plug-in cars (all electric cars and plug-in hybrids) with its RePower America campaign. Let's hope Al Gore's been saying as much to President Obama (doesn't that sound great!).

Once again, a conference on plug-in cars. Plug-in 2008 in San Jose, California witnessed a noon-time address by new heavy-weight convert, Andy Grove, former CEO of Intel. One week earlier, former Vice President Al Gore issued his well-received challenge to make the American grid 100% renewable in ten years.

The very first Fisker Karma models have begun to roll off the production line, as the firm makes its first deliveries of the plug-in hybrid model. First models are already been snatched up, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Gore and Colin Powell rumoured to be among the first customers.

The tax credit is part of a broader plan to make 50% of new vehicles sold in the United States hybrids or plug-ins by 2030. However, 90% of the vehicles that were eligible for the tax credit before April 18 are still eligible, according to Albert Gore , executive director of the Zero Emission Transportation Association.
