These high-capacity 8-volt golf-cart batteries are 70 pounds apiece. I couldn't find a good solution with the copper bars supplied by ElectroAuto, so I just took my best guess and gave it a shot. I got this battery strap at a Yamaha golf cart dealer. Here are the supplied fusible links. And the rear box.

The 8-volt golf cart batteries arrived over 24 days ago and have just been sitting on the garage floor, discharging. I'm also going to replace the #2 gauge wire that came in the crate with 2/0 cable from United Welding Supply to help carry supply current more efficiently. Next up: Tapping into the 914 fuse block.

Potting should only be a last resort, and it only tends to make sense in very cost-sensitive devices that aren’t considered worth repairing (such as a golf-cart motor controller, which is where I’ve seen it used the most in the EV field).
