The NYPD already uses electric scooters and electric powered golf carts on boardwalks, in parks and some transit hubs. As part of its selection as the supplier of New York City’s Taxi of Tomorrow, Nissan is working with the City and taxi owners on a pilot program to study the use of zero-emission electric vehicles as taxis.

This experiment studies a driver’s behavior over time in order to build a more personalized mobility profile. Using Georgia Tech-owned golf carts to prove out the technology, a person sitting in a remote location can access real-time video streamed over LTE to drive the carts. Data Driven Insurance, London.

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. We'll also be taking Burning Man art projects off petroleum generators by switching them to solar electricity.

For instance, data show that “filling up” an EV at home is cheaper than gas in every single state in the nation, according to one study. We know one thing: CR’s study also showed that far more of those who said they would buy an EV had been a passenger in one. Of course, we have a ways to go with awareness.

A very low cost EV is taking a golf cart transaxle or whole GC rear/seat and weld, ect a MC front end, frame, title to it, change the batteries from 6vdc to 12vdc to double the voltage and use larger dia VW Rabbit tires and you can have a nice 1- 3 person MC trike that goes 45-55mph and 50+ mile range.
