ZF presents EVbeat concept vehicle with prototype of new 800-volt electric drive; compact, lightweight and efficient

At its Global Technology Day in Friedrichshafen, ZF presented the electric concept vehicle EVbeat, which is designed for maximum compactness, low weight, and maximum efficiency in real operation. The EVSys800 used in the concept is a modular 800-volt drive and consists of SiC power electronics, the electric motor and a reduction gearbox.

GM reveals new Ultium batteries and flexible global platform for rapid growth of EV lineup

The heart of GM’s strategy is a modular propulsion system and a highly flexible, third-generation global EV platform powered by proprietary Ultium batteries. Most will have 400-volt battery packs and up to 200 kW fast-charging capability while the electric truck platform will have 800-volt battery packs and 350 kW fast-charging capability.

Next Generation Chevy Volt to debut at 2015 NAIAS

The next generation Chevrolet Volt will debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, Global Chevrolet Chief Marketing Officer Tim Mahoney said today. Volt sales were up 13% in July to 2,020 units; more than 65,000 have been sold since it was introduced in 2010.
