General Motors presents viability plan
As it bids to break even at a US total industry sales volume of approximately 10 million vehicles, General Motors has updated its Viability Plan which will deepen the cuts in its operations. General Motors North America structural costs are to decline by 25 per cent from $30.8billion in 2008 to $23.2billion in 2010.

GM sets sights high for Volt
Few vehicles have captured the imagination of the US public quite like the Chevrolet Volt - and now General Motors has revealed some astonishing estimates for the vehicle. It expects the Volt to achieve city fuel economy of at least 230mpg given a single charge per day. The reports do come with a disclaimer, however.
