Invitations are now being sent out for the eagerly awaited debut of the Tesla Model 3 electric car at the end of this month.

Tesla will offer at least a look at the 200-mile, $35,000 electric car at the event, which will take place in Los Angeles March 31.

It will also begin accepting Model 3 orders at its retail stores, while online ordering will start the next day.

Copies of invites are already showing up on the Tesla Motors Club forum (via Inside EVs).

One of the confirmed guests is Norwegian Tesla super owner Bjorn Nyland.

Last year, Nyland claimed to set a Model S distance record after covering just over 450 miles in a loop beginning and ending at the Supercharger DC fast-charging site in Rødekro, Denmark.

He was also the European winner of both of Tesla's recent customer-referral contests.

By accumulating the most referrals in his region, Nyland won both a Tesla Model X and a Model S P90D.

Both programs encouraged Tesla owners to refers friends by offering cash bonuses to both referrer and referred, and prizes for owners that made the most referrals in a given region.

Some of those other winners won tickets to the Model 3 unveiling as well.

Regarding the car itself, a Tesla Motors Club forum poster also claimed to have gained some new information from a company "insider."

This person said the Model 3 looks like a smaller Model S, and has fewer luxury features.

The member also suggested that Tesla may debut a "stripped down Model X," possibly to be called Model Y, at the same time as the Model 3.

That last idea may turn out to be just a rumor, as it remains unclear exactly what and how much Tesla will show of the Model 3 at the event.

At a gathering of Tesla owners in France last month, CEO Elon Musk also said that Tesla won't reveal everything about the Model 3 until much closer to the start of production, which is still scheduled for late next year.
