The EU’s DirectFuel project, which launched on 1 October, intends to develop a photobiological process for the direct conversion of sunlight and CO 2 into engine- and infrastructure-ready transport fuels such as propane. The 4-year project will have funding of up to €3.73 million (US$5.1 million).
