Nissan Leaf gains new trim level and tech

The electric Nissan Leaf has been given a minor update, with the highlight being the introduction of a new 62kWh N-Connecta trim.

With production for the updated line-up commencing in mid November, spec enhancements to both the 40kWh and 62kWh versions include a new Intelligent Rearview Mirror for range-topping Tekna models, a shark fin antenna on N-Connecta models and above, along with a Blindspot Intervention system on all models.

The Intelligent Rearview mirror features a built-in LCD monitor that displays images from a high-res camera mounted at the back of the car. Drivers can switch between this and a standard mirror depending on their preference.

The Blindspot Intervention system is now standard on all models, increasing the Leaf’s already impressive list of safety equipment.

There’s new colour options too, with the introduction of stylish Ceramic Grey. This can be had in a contrasting two-tone format with the addition of Pearl Black Metallic.

Those opting for Nissan’s ProPILOT system will also discover it has been reduced in price – it’s now £145 cheaper on N-Connecta models, while ProPILOT Parking Assist is also £295 less.

The introduction of the e+ N-Connecta also creates a new entry-level model for those wishing to opt for the larger capacity 62kWh battery.

Meanwhile, list prices for the range-topping e+ Tekna 62kWh models has been cut and now stands at £34,710. Acenta and N-Connecta list prices remain the same, with just the Tekna 40kWh version receiving a price adjustment of £315 (the cost of the new Intelligent rear-view camera).
